Roberto De Zerbi’s key message during training in Brighton

Roberto De Zerbi plans to instill a passion for football in his Albion side during a busy week on the training ground.

The head coach got his players together after the thrilling 3-3 draw at Anfield after many returned from international action.

He will work with them in two groups, giving each player more time to learn the coach’s methods first hand.

De Zerbi is looking forward to the coming days and said: “I’m trying to bring intensity to the team during the week.

“And I try to convey passion.

“Probably from next week in training we will split the players into two groups, of course mix the players to give all players the same attention.

“Because if we say we don’t have (Lewis) Dunk or (Leandro) Trossard for games, the coach has to give the same importance, the same knowledge, so they know exactly what they have to do.

“I meant that the players do one training session a day, me and my staff do two.”

Trossard missed de Zerbi’s first training session last week as he was away with Belgium.

But he’s liked what he’s seen so far.

The Anfield hat-trick star said: “When I came back they told me how he was and you can see straight away how passionate he is.”

Under different bosses, Albion have scored eight goals in their last two games as they prepare for Saturday’s clash with Tottenham and De Zerbi loves an attacking game.

He added: “I don’t know if I’m a good head coach, but I know I’m a brave one.

“I’m not afraid to use an extra striker.” Roberto De Zerbi’s key message during training in Brighton
