Only Fools and Horses star Ron Pember has passed away with the cast paying their respects to the 87-year-old.
Ron’s devastated grandson, Paul Pember, confirmed the sad news that the much-loved actor had passed away on Tuesday as he described him as a ‘gentleman’.
To pay tribute to the 87-year-old, Paul wrote: “‘Sadness is now happiness. That’s the deal. April 11, 1934 – March 8, 2022 #ronpember #grandad.”
Following Paul’s heartfelt post where he confirmed his grandfather’s death, the official social media account for Only Fools And Horses retweeted his tribute and celebrated his life and remarkable acting skills. Ron’s astonishment.

The account Only Fools and Horses retweeted the message, writing: “We are saddened to hear of the death of Ron Pember, who played Baz in episode 3 of the series, Homesick.”
“Our thoughts and warm wishes go out to his family and friends.”
In addition to appearing on 1983’s Only Fools And Horses, where he played Baz, the president of the tenants association, Ron also starred in Red Dwarf and also served as a stage director.
He also played a major role of Alain Muny in the 1970s BBC television series Army Confidential.
Proving his seemingly endless talent, Ron also wrote a musical called Jack the Ripper in 1975 about a Victorian murder in London in the late 1880s.

His musicals are still regularly produced by amateur theater groups and companies around the globe.
After Ron’s sad death, gratitude poured into the talented actor.
Actor Danny John Jules described Ron as a gentleman in a heartfelt tweet.
“Just heard the sad news that Ron Pember has passed away,” he wrote.

Before adding: “He was such a gentleman to us when he appeared on #RedDwarf. He just shoved his tongue in his cheek and joined the party! What a legend. RIP. “
Meanwhile, British author Danny Kelly tweeted: “RIP Ron Pember, actor in every TV show of the 70s and 80s.
“And, importantly, Alain in the UK’s best TV series, The Secret Army. Rest in peace, Ron.”
Elsewhere, the official Red Dwarf account commented: “RIP Ron Pember. An outstanding actor, stage director and screenwriter who made a memorable appearance in Series II’s Better Than Life.”

Ron was born in 1934 in Essex.
The actor married his wife Yvonne Tylee in 1959.
He stopped acting after suffering a stroke in 1992, and retired to live in Southend-on-Sea.
