Ronan Keating sheds tears over his mother’s death as he reveals his biggest regret

RONAN Keating was emotional when he posted a touching tribute to his mother Marie to commemorate the anniversary of her death.
The 44-year-old posted a new video talking to his followers and sharing how he feels 24 years after Marie passed away from metastatic breast cancer.
He said: “24 years ago, today I lost my mother. Me and my family had to go through the most terrible situation of losing my mother.
“Marie Keating, she passed away 24 years ago. She was 51 years old, she died of cancer.
“She’s our best friend, she’s a legend, she’s as amazing as they come. The best mom.”
Sharing her grief at not being able to share much of her life with Marie, Ronan continued: “She never got to meet her grandchildren, she has so many incredible grandchildren.
“It’s heartbreaking that she never gets to see them. I wonder about today’s conversation with my mother, about my children, about my life.
“So many things in the 24 years that I’ve been through and that I’ve accomplished that I want to share with my mom.
“When your mom puts her arm around you and says ‘everything will be okay’ – that feeling. I don’t understand that anymore and there’s nothing like that feeling.
“When you’re going through a tough time and your mom tells you ‘everything’s going to be okay’. Then you think it’s going to be okay. That’s what happens.”
Ronan was just 20 years old when Marie died and with his siblings Ciarán, Gerard, Gary and Linda and his father Gerry, he founded the Marie Keating Foundation.
The Boyzone singer and wife Storm is the parent to four-year-old Cooper and one-year-old Coco, and he’s also the father of Jack, Missy, and Ali.
