Ronnie Spector dies aged 78

RONNIE Spector, has passed away at the age of 78, her family has revealed.

Legendary Ronettes was an extraordinary singer known around the world with hits including “Be My Baby”.

Spector was the lead singer in the girl group, which was formed in the early 1960s and also featured hits like “Baby I Love You” and “Walking in the Rain.”

She also married svengali producer Phil Spector in 1968, suffered years of abuse and death threats before finally escaping their mansion in 1972 with a barefoot dash with her help. her mother.

When Spector – who was later found guilty of murder – died in January 2021 at the age of 81, Ronnie said “He was a great producer, but a lousy husband”.

Ronnie’s family announced her death yesterday, saying she had briefly battled cancer but no other details were released.
