ROY HODGSON is tipped to return to great football to replace Watford manager Claudio Ranieri who was sacked at Vicarage Road.
Italian Gaffer, 70 years old, was attacked by Hornet on Monday after the club’s 0-3 home defeat to Norwich.
This result leaves Watford in 19th place in the Premier League after losing seven of their last eight away matches.
Ranieri was signed to a two-year contract when he replaced Xisco Munoz in October, but was quickly terminated having won just two of his 14 games in charge.

They announced that they are finalizing the appointment of former England manager Hodgson, who has lost his job since leaving Crystal Palace at the end of last season.
The newspaper said that Watford players and club staff were aware of his impending arrival.
It has even been said that there are only final paperwork left to complete with the official announcement of his return to the game expected in the next 24 hours.

Hodgson was only contacted by Watford on Monday to find out if he was interested in the vacant job.
And since then, negotiations have accelerated over his return to mining at the age of 74.
If he succeeds Ranieri, he will have until February 5 to sort out the key six-point game plan against Burnley at Turf Moor.
Watford claim they used the ax on Ranieri to give the next manager enough time to prepare for the Clarets clash.
ONE club statement read: “Watford Football Club confirm the departure of Head Coach Claudio Ranieri.
“The Hornets Board of Directors recognizes Claudio as a man of immense integrity and honor who will always be respected at Vicarage Road for his efforts in leading the team with dignity.
“However, the Board feels that, with almost half of the Premier League campaign left, the change in Head Coach position will now give a new appointment enough time to work with a talented squad aiming to achieve their immediate goal of retaining a Premier League spot.
“The club will not comment further until this new appointment is confirmed on time.”
