Royal Mail issues special postage stamps commemorating Queen Elizabeth II

That Royal Mail has announced that four stamps featuring portraits of Queen Elizabeth the second will be published in her memory.

The stamps were approved by King Charles III and will go on sale from November 10th and will feature images of the late monarch over the years.

A photo taken by Dorothy Wilding in 1952 for marker the queens Accession and coronation will appear on a second class stamp.

while the premium stamps will have a 1968 photograph by Cecil Beaton of the monarch in her admiral’s mantle standing with her head tilted to the left.

Yousuf Karsh’s portrait of Her Majesty November 1984 will appear on £1.85 stamps.

£2.55 stamps have a photo of the Queen Attending a banquet at Prague Castle during Tim Graham’s visit to the Czech Republic in 1996.

The four stamps originally appeared in the 2002 Golden Jubilee stamp issue and was approved by the late queen for this year’s edition.

Simon Thompson, Managing Director of Royal Mailsaid: “Every British postage stamp for the past 70 years has been personally authorized by Her late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth.

“Today we unveil these stamps, the first to be authorized by His Majesty the King, in tribute to a woman whose dedication to public service and duty was unparalleled in the history of this country.”
