She explains that as she’s recovering, it’s important for her to adjust to the content she’s using online.

She said: “I’m a big preacher because you’re in control of your own social media, so don’t follow people who make you feel like you’ve been killed or it won’t help your life. your journey.

“For me while I was recovering, I unfollowed and muted a lot of accounts that were actually selling weight loss pills – people who were sharing their limitations, overtraining.

“Things that couldn’t make me better, they might have motivated me.

“Look, I have nothing against those people but there are times in your life when you just can’t use different types of media because it basically doesn’t get you where you want to be.”

And for that reason, the Tipperary native is conscious of what she posts online.

“I guess I would say my social feed is a feed that I know I can watch and it is informative, positive or just funny,” she said.

“I certainly don’t know if there are people out there still living that 2010 lifestyle and promoting it.

“I’m very far from that.

“While I’ve been in treatment for an eating disorder for seven years, one thing I want to tell people is this: you go to counseling sessions, they’re not going to fix you.

“They don’t just solve your problem, they give you the tools to manage it and one of the biggest tools I’ve been taught is to protect your environment.

“And that’s what I do when it comes to social media and what I consume.”

LOCKDOWN EFFECT

Roz said how the lockdown in the midst of the pandemic has blurred her boundaries with social media.

She told Brian Keane on his fitness podcast: “I would say that my personal relationship with social media is very good. I think the lockdown has tipped that off a bit.

“My life became who I was online because I just lived in the locked house for so long.

‘NOT HELP’

“So just now, I’m taking it apart again and saying, ‘It’s not helpful to the way I live my life’.

“I’m the one who always preaches that your offline life is better and should be much better than your online life.

“Your online life should only complement your offline life if that makes sense.”

She added: “I definitely think my strings are locked and it’s just because I think people are using more media and content that I feel pressure to produce more.”
