Ashling has ferocious attack along a canal in Tullamore, Co Offaly on Wednesday. It is supposed to be a random attack.

Police last night release a man they questioned her about her death and said he was no longer considered a suspect.

An autopsy showed that Ashling died of strangulation. The officers believe she fought bravely.

There has been a wave of heartbreak for Ashling on social media since the tragic news broke.

Ryan Tubridy offered his condolences to her family at the start of Tonight’s Late Show.

He said: “The most tragic events in Tullamore have taken place so we have a lot to say about this most chaotic and troubled weekend.

“Similarly, we plan to host the Temple Bar trade festival, which is an annual gathering of Ireland’s best traditional musicians and singers that will take place at the end of the month.

“The traditional music community is a close-knit family and they, like all of us above and below the country, are shocked and saddened by the senseless events at Tullamore this week.

“I would like to extend my sincere condolences to Ashling Murphy’s family and indeed her friends, colleagues and students at Durrow National School.

“Ashling as we know it now was an extremely talented musician, a gifted fiddle player.

“She herself played at tradfest in Tullamore and is a very respected player.

“I think it is fitting that we begin our session here in memory of Ashling Murphy.”

‘KILL DEATH CELK’

The show also features a trading session to mark the annual event in Dublin.

But when Ashling played the fiddle, they seriously left a chair for her with a violin on her head during the lesson.

Viewers at home couldn’t help but be moved by the touching emoji.

Caolan said: “The empty chair for Aisling is both devastating and beautiful #Latelate #LateLateShow.”

Eoghan added: “The intro is really powerful and the deal is beautiful chosen #LateLateShow.”

Mairead wrote: “Heartbreaking to see idiot sitting on a chair. #Latelateshow.”

Shauna tweeted: “The empty chair & standing chair is heartbreaking. Rest in peace Ashling Murphy #LateLateShow.”
