RTE viewers have called Claire Byrne Live a “whole repeater” after the “weird” segment that made the time capsule Covid.
Claire was with several guests in the studio last night to mark the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions.
They created a Covid time capsule, whereby all the guests brought something to put in it.
The show wanted “something that would remind them of the pandemic and the times we’ve all been through as a country. Some of these items our guests may not want to see.” in a period of time.”
While the show may have tried to elevate viewers, it missed the mark.
“After nearly two years of lockdowns, closures, two two-kilometer travel zones, nine-euro dinners and more, it looks like Covid-19 is finally moving behind us,” said Claire. “
RTE viewers found the controversial segment a bit rushed and insensitive to those still suffering from the virus.
Many of them took to Twitter to voice their concerns.
