Brand attended a rehabilitation center in 2002 and has been sober ever since.

He continued, praising the support he has received from friends and family: “Someone like me can’t help but drink and use drugs unless I have adequate and ongoing support. from people who understand what it’s like to be addicted to drugs or alcohol. or certain behaviors are necessary to feel good.”

Brand went on to offer advice to viewers if they know someone who is “addicted to drugs, addicted to alcohol and seems hopeless and hopeless”.

“I know a lot of you do,” he added. “A lot of you are worried about your loved one. I know a lot of you are addicted too and you feel like ‘Oh my god, this is hopeless’. Well, that’s not true, that could change,” he urges viewers.

He said that recovery can only be achieved by “waking up from the world of attachment”, which he admits is still a “continuous process”.
