Russell Crowe has been spotted as the famous exorcist on the set of Trinity College Dublin


Oscar winner Russell Crowe is pictured here while filming the new film The Pope’s Exorcist in Ireland.

The 58-year-old stars in a film based on real-life character Father Gabriele Amorth, a priest who served as the Vatican’s chief exorcist and performed more than 100,000 exorcisms in his lifetime.

The Italian died in 2016 at the age of 91.

Crowe plays Father Amorth and is pictured here in the grounds of Trinity College, Dublin, wearing black religious robes.

Numerous extras dressed as priests and nuns also gathered to take part in various scenes for the strip.

Crowe’s friend Britney Theriot is also working on the film and was seen chatting with Crowed during the breaks last night.

Britney is a 31-year-old American real estate agent and the couple confirmed their relationship last November, although they first met on the set of his film Broken City in 2013 (she was then an actress before becoming an auctioneer).

She is said to be the spitting image of his ex-wife Danielle Spencer.

Two other actors confirmed for the film so far are Alex Essoe and Daniel Zovatto.

The Pope’s Exorcist is being directed by Julius Avery, with locations being worked on in Dublin and Co. Wicklow.

Born in New Zealand and based in Australia, Crowe won an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in the 2000 blockbuster Gladiator and has also starred in films such as A Beautiful Mind, The Insider, Cinderella Man and Les Miserables”.

The film is a heartwarming comedy about two estranged cousins ​​who resolve a multigenerational family feud.

Adam Driver was also recently spotted filming at Ardmore Studios in Co Wicklow.

The American is said to be shooting 65 here, a science fiction film with a budget of over 90 million euros.
