Russell Martin has revealed the support he has received from his Swansea predecessor, Graham Potter.
Martin, who hails from Brighton, is among the names speculated to be linked to the Seagulls vacancy left by Potter’s move to Chelsea.
He plays football similar to Potter’s and is now at Swansea, the club Albion hired their former head coach from.
At a press conference today, Martin said: “When I was at MK Dons I was associated with a lot of jobs. I was connected to a few jobs here last season.
“It is what it is. It’s really just noise. We concentrated fully on our job.
“If you’re mentioned for other jobs, it means you’re doing something right, I think. We really don’t care.
“We love our job and we have to make sure we’re constantly improving.
“We are very happy for Graham. A British manager, brilliant to be given the opportunity, one he deserves and a guy we admire.
“There were messages after games when we won and when we’re going through a difficult moment he sends a message.
“He’s been so supportive of us, him and Billy (Reid). I hope it will be a great success. We’ll enjoy seeing him at Chelsea as we did at Brighton.”
