Russia bans 100 Canadians including Margaret Atwood and Jim Carrey

The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that 100 Canadians have been added to the list of people banned from entering the country in response to Canada’s sanctions against Russia.

The ministry statement said author Margaret Atwood, actor Jim Carrey and Amy Knight, a prominent KGB historian, were on the banned list.

The ministry said they and 97 others, many of them affiliated with Ukrainian ethnic organizations, had been banned for their involvement in “the formation of anti-Russian extremists”.
