Russia has warned that Europe will disappear from the map if western nations supply Ukraine with nuclear-capable missiles.

The threat comes after Poland’s former foreign minister hinted that those in league against Russia’s aggression in Ukraine may have legal grounds for providing the deadly weapons. reported the sun.

Radoslaw Sikorski claimed that Vladimir Putin violated the 1994 Budapest memorandum on security guarantees and therefore western nations could legitimately supply the missiles to “enable Ukraine to defend its independence”.

Following Ukraine’s declaration of independence after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the government agreed to destroy its nuclear arsenal and join the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Although Russia joined the NPT at the time, Mr Sikorski said Putin violated the terms of the deal by invading Ukraine.

Russia hit back with poison at Mr Sikorski’s remarks. Vyacheslav Volodin, the head of the State Duma, wrote on his Telegram account that Poland — along with the rest of Europe — “would cease to exist” if Russia were threatened.

He said: “With such MEPs, Europeans will have much more serious problems than they have today (refugees, record inflation, energy crisis).

“Sikorski provokes a nuclear conflict in the center of Europe. He thinks neither about the future of Ukraine nor about the future of Poland.

“If his proposals are fulfilled, these countries, like Europe, will cease to exist.

“Sikorski and Co. are the reason why Ukraine must not only be liberated from Nazi ideology, but also demilitarized to ensure the country’s nuclear-weapon-free status.”

Russia has issued multiple nuclear threats against Europe since the invasion began on February 24. It has also used hypersonic missiles to hit NATO supply lines to prevent weapons from crossing the border with Ukraine. Putin’s space chief Dmitry Rogozin has also threatened to wipe out half of Europe’s infamous “Satan II” missile.

The Satan-II, technically called the RS-28 Sarmat, is a super-heavy intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) capable of speeds in excess of 15,000 miles per hour and a range of more than 6,000 miles.

It could hit the US in minutes with a devastating array of nuclear warheads.

The Russian military said it “successfully launched” Satan-II for the first time on April 20, 2022.

The rocket is scheduled to enter service later this year.
