Russian soldiers claim commanders ‘shoot their own wounded soldiers’
Russian commanders are butchering their own wounded soldiers instead of taking them off the battlefield for medical treatment, army insiders have claimed.
A lieutenant colonel was accused of personally shooting several wounded troops.
It is alleged by captured soldiers that the commander asked a soldier if he could leave and when the man replied he couldn’t, the officer killed him.
The chilling report comes from young army intelligence troopers captured by the Ukrainians.
They are featured in a video clip by Ukrainian journalist Volodymyr Zolkin, who recorded Russian prisoners for Open Media Ukraine.
One soldier recounted how commanders “disposed of their wounded.”

When asked by Zolkin what he meant, the captured Russian said, “Just like that… there’s a wounded soldier lying on the ground, and a battalion commander shoots him with a gun.”
He explained: “It was a young man, he was wounded.
“He lay on the floor. He was asked if he could walk, so he was shot with a gun.”
A second soldier said on the video: “The most important thing – this was not an isolated case.
“The lieutenant colonel was walking around…”

A third soldier then says, “He shot four or five like that.”
The second soldier says, “They were all young men.”
The third added: “They could have been rescued, got help and been taken from there. He just shot her.”
The video did not reveal where in Ukraine the alleged shooting of wounded soldiers by their commander took place.
Nor did the exchanges reveal where the men had been captured or in which unit they were serving.
The video came as Ukraine accused Russia of not taking back its dead.
Some bodies are loaded onto refrigerated wagons in white body bags.
Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Ostorozhno Media that the Kremlin has “no information” about the bodies of the dead soldiers or the wounded in Ukraine.
He was told: “People from all over the country are writing on social media that they can’t even get the bodies [of the dead soldiers in Ukraine]. The prisoners are in trouble too…
“What do we do with our dead and do we trade prisoners?”
He replied, “We don’t have that information. It’s up to the Department of Defense.”
