Vladimir Putin is said to have lost over 30,000 troops during the invasion as Ukrainian resistance continues to wreak havoc despite Russian advances in the east
Dramatic footage shows a Russian soldier pointing his middle finger at a Ukrainian drone just before it drops a grenade at the tank he’s standing next to.
The blast reduced the tank to a blazing wreck as Ukrainian forces defiantly continued to position themselves in the east of the country. The sun reports.
Ukrainian officials have put Russia’s current losses during the invasion at 30,000 troops and 1,330 tanks.
In footage released by Ukrainian Armed Forces, the drone carries out an attack on a Russian BTR-82A APC hidden on the side of a building.
Six Russian troops are gathered around the vehicle, one of whom looks up as the drone zooms in before pointing his finger in the direction of the vehicle.
The drone then fires a grenade at the tank, causing it to burst into flames.
According to Ukrainian officials, Vladimir Putin lost 30,000 soldiers, 1,330 tanks, 207 planes and 174 helicopters during the war.
Despite heavy casualties and thwarted attempts to take Kyiv, Putin’s forces are making headway in the eastern Donbass region.

Russia could potentially add millions more soldiers after Putin scrapped the age limit on those who can be called up for his war in Ukraine.
The Kremlin previously only allowed Russians between the ages of 18 and 40 to fight in its armed forces, and foreigners between the ages of 18 and 30.
But the toll of the brutal war in Ukraine is such that it has paved the way for older career soldiers to take up arms.
The move is presented as recruiting more “technical specialists” rather than a desperate move to increase the number of soldiers.
State Duma spokesman Vyacheslav Volodin said: “Today we especially need to strengthen the armed forces and help the Ministry of Defense.
“Our supreme commander is doing everything to ensure our forces win and we must help.”
After being pushed back from the Ukrainian capital, Russian troops have made advances in the east, where they are reportedly launching “hunt to kill” missions to rid the area of regional leaders.
Ukrainian officials in the eastern areas are kept on the move to avoid death squads, while Russia advances in the Donbass region and takes the town of Lyman.
A police chief in the Luhansk region of Donbass has compared the offensive to the “Red Terror” perpetrated by the Bolsheviks in Soviet Russia between 1918 and 1922.
“Heads of local administration, including me, we are constantly on the move,” said chief Oleg Grigorov.
“The Russians are after our heads, whether by capture or outright liquidation.”
