A Russian soldier has been arrested after a hideous video of a baby being raped surfaced on the internet.

Alexei Bychkov was named as the arrested soldier in Russian media and the video is believed to be from the Ukraine conflict.

If true, it would be the latest Russian atrocity to shock the world with Kremlin troops repeatedly accused of war crimes and genocide.

The video was shared on Telegram and other social media sites, although few details about it have been confirmed.

Ukrainian media reports that the man sent heinous pictures and videos to a comrade and spread them from there.

On Saturday, Boris Johnson made a surprise visit to the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv, where he spoke with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and walked the streets of the city.

Mr Johnson said that while Russian forces attacking Kyiv had suffered defeat, their withdrawal was “tactical” as they prepared to refocus their military efforts east.

He strongly condemned the “war crimes” uncovered after their departure, with Ukrainian authorities reporting dozens of civilians shot and killed.

“I think what Putin has done in places like Bucha and Irpin, his war crimes have tarnished his reputation and the reputation of his government,” he said.

Mr Zelensky hailed Britain’s “firm and significant support” for his country as he urged other Western allies to step up pressure on Moscow.

Russia’s UN Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia then told the Security Council that Russian troops are not targeting civilians and dismissed allegations of abuse as lies.

He said that while Bucha was under Russian control, “not a single civilian suffered any kind of violence”.
