Russia: TV commentator calls for execution of British prisoners
Two British militants sentenced to death by a mock court for fighting in Ukraine have been shot dead with guns and bullets imported from Britain, according to a Russian politician.
Aiden Aslin, 28, and Shaun Pinner, 48, along with Moroccan Sadun Brahim, 21, were captured during the attempted defense of Mariupol.
The British have appeared in court in the separatist Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and will appeal the barbaric verdict.
Another British prisoner, Andrew Hill, 35, a father of four from Plymouth, has also been warned to face the death penalty if his sentence is announced.
MP Aleksey Zhuravlyov, deputy chairman of the Russian parliament’s defense committee, told state TV Rossiya 1 that the DPR intended to execute them with British guns and bullets.

He said: “I like the way the DPR is fulfilling its international obligations.
“As I am told… the shooting will be conducted with a British gun and British bullet.
“And then this bullet is sent to the British relatives who have to pay for it. In rubles … conversion from pounds.”
Pro-Kremlin TV presenter Yevgeny Popov intervened, saying it was “a mockery”.

The hardline MP hit back: ‘Why mockery? No ridicule, we just gotta take those bastards down.
“Without negotiations. It is not even necessary to mock them. I’ve seen what they do with my own eyes, so I have no sympathy for them.
“All these assholes that came here from the UK must be eliminated. Do you want them liquidated with your British gun?

“You will be eliminated with a British gun.
“The DPR and the LPR [Luhansk People’s Republic] have enough captured trophies.
“Well, if the [West] Send mercenaries here, they must clearly understand where they are going.”
The convicts are said to have admitted “training to carry out terrorist activities”.
The British government is seeking their release with the possibility of a prisoner exchange.

Mr Aslin’s family previously said in a statement: “We have heard the news from Donetsk and we need some time to absorb it all.
“We love Aiden with all our hearts. As members of the Ukrainian armed forces, he and Shaun should be treated with the same respect as any other prisoner of war.
“They are not mercenaries and have never been.

“We hope this sentence is overturned and ask the UK and Ukrainian governments to do everything in their power to ensure that they return to us safely and soon.”
