Loose women: Ruth Langsford says she has struggled with debt

Ruth Langsford’s performing arts business has been valued at £2.3 million.

The presenter, 61, is best known for hosting This Morning and appearing as a panelist on Loose Women.

And in addition to her involvement with ITV, she also appears on the QVC shopping channel and has several magazine columns.

But she is also a director of the privately held Hey Ho Limited – described as a “performing arts” business in recent Company documents.

Ruth is said to have borrowed more than £1m from the company – worth £2.3m herself – and paid herself a salary of just £8,788 last year, according to the Daily Star.

Annual account was filed with the Company stating that Hey Ho Limited had net assets of £2,276,365 – for the financial year ended 31 May last year.

The document adds that £536,764 was transferred to the director’s current account – known as Ms RW Langsford – as an advance between June 2020 and 2021.

It says that £23,407 was repaid by the director over that period, leaving the director’s total at £1,040,635 at the end of May last year.

And providing details on a director’s ‘remuneration’ – i.e. payment for work or services – the company said the figure was £8,788 over the last financial year.

Along with her director, the Company lists Ms. Ruth Wendy Holmes – who will be the married name of the presenter – as “a person with substantial control” in the company.

It was previously reported that Ruth is one of the biggest earners on daytime television, thanks to her entrepreneurial ventures – with success surpassing 41-year-old Holly Willoughby.

A source commented last month that “Ruth’s ability to earn money is outside [This Morning] was huge,” adding that her other business ventures such as her role in QVC were a “huge” success.

Mirror has approached Ruth’s representative for comment.
