Ryan Gosling’s “Barbie” songs chart on the Billboard Hot 100

Ryan Gosling made his Billboard Hot 100 debut with a now-viral song from the Barbie movie.
The actor’s song “I’m Just Ken” from the film’s soundtrack album, Barbie: The Album, reached #87 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart reported on Thursday. It also appeared on other charts including Hot Rock Songs, Hot Rock & Alternating Songs and Digital Song Sales.
Although “I’m Just Ken” is Gosling’s first entry on the Hot 100, it appeared on other Billboard charts due to his performances in the 2016 film “La La Land,” the publication reported.
Gosling, who as a child showcased his singing and dancing skills as a cast member on the Disney Channel show The All New Mickey Mouse Club, apparently had the idea of performing “I’m Just Ken” in the film, which premieres June 21 premiered in July.
Mark Ronson, executive producer of the soundtrack album, told Vanity Fair published an article Last month, Gosling asked to have the song performed in the film after hearing the demo.
The music producer, who co-wrote “I’m Just Ken,” said he was impressed with Gosling’s performance.
“He really did it [that] It had to follow the line of being neither funny nor parodic,” Ronson said. “But obviously the song is also kind of ridiculous at times. So he was really great, and when he really started hitting the big notes, I thought, This guy is a vocal powerhouse!”
Gosling’s “I’m Just Ken” performance probably only proved to director Greta Gerwig that he was the right choice to cast Ken.
Gerwig told Rolling Stone said in July that the role was “only ever” for Gosling.
“From the moment Margot came to me and I knew we were doing this for Margot, I also knew we were doing this for Ryan,” she said.
