Rylan Clark has found himself in a hilarious situation where people have joked he has received a huge gift from Spanish giants Real Madrid.

When Los Blancos faced Manchester City in the Champions League semi-final, a large banner was rolled out in the stands.

While believed to be a nod to star striker Karim Benzema, Twitter erupted in laughter when the comment resembled an image of the former X Factor man.

FootballJoe shared a screenshot and wrote: “Lovely tribute to Rylan Clark from the Real Madrid fans.”

Fans quickly reacted with glee, while Rylan himself joined in and thanked them for the comment in Spanish.

As the post went viral, the 33-year-old asked: “How did I become the face of international football?”

BBC’s Match Of The Day also joined, reposting him and calling him: “Kilmarnock and Real Madrid football legend @Rylan.”

The hilarious interaction came after Scotland fans at Kilmarnock picked up a star card for their match earlier in the week to pay tribute to the tournament’s sponsor in a hilarious way.

As well as songs centered around the Supermarket presenter, there was also footage of the cutout being inserted into the stands of a game – much to Rylan’s amusement.

He went on to share screenshots from a decade ago when he took part in a shootout on Sky’s Soccer AM alongside his fellow X Factor contestants.

Rylan captioned the post: “From humble beginnings on @SoccerAM in 2012 wearing UGG boots to becoming the international face of the game. 10 years gone well #lad #cinchedit”

He also shared a Sky Sports Retro clip that recorded him failing miserably at the crossbar challenge, which was labeled “icon” by one fan.

Another joked his skill set would see a possibility of promotion to League One hoping Sunderland would sign him.

As the banter continued, there were calls to include the star in the next Football Support squad.

However, that seems to be the time for Rylan to pull off an answer as he replies: “STOP THIS”, along with three crying and laughing emojis.

However, some fans were not dismissed by his comment and continued to push for his inclusion.

One user wrote: “@Rylan you should play @socceraid this year! Home game at London Stadium #COYI.”

Another agreed, joking: “Imagine him walking the field in Uggs only to hit a 40-yard high-pitched screamer.”

Elsewhere, some Celtic fans are begging Scottish FA officials to allow the star to hand over the club’s national championship trophy if they win another title.

One user commented: “Hope you’ll be at Celtic Park to give the trophy! #CinchPrem”, while another wrote: “Rylan has to be at Celtic Park to give the trophy, no one else can accept it.” get @CelticFC Cinch it.”
