Sadio Mane said he is happy at Liverpool and is trying to enjoy every moment of his time at the club as speculation continues to swirl about the Senegalese striker’s future amid ties with Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
The 30-year-old, whose contract expires at the end of next season, scored the winner in last night’s 2-1 win over Aston Villa to keep the pressure on Premier League leaders Manchester City.
Liverpool are level on points with City, who play Wolverhampton Wanderers tonight.
Arranging Mane’s future is a key task for manager Jurgen Klopp, who has guided them successfully in La Liga, the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup.
Asked if he was ever happier at Liverpool, Mane said: “Yeah sure, when we won the trophies I guess I was happier.
“But I think I’m just trying to enjoy every moment and trying to score goals and help for my teammates. I think it’s all about the team or nothing, the guys make it easier for me so obviously I’m very happy.”
League Cup winners Liverpool, who are also in the Champions League final, can lift their second trophy of the season when they meet Chelsea in Saturday’s FA Cup tie.
