The 21-year-old has flourished on loan to the Ligue 1 side this season after appearing in a whopping 51 games in all competitions.

Saliba is yet to make his first team debut for the Gunners since joining in 2019 but fans are hoping his impressive form will give him his chance next season.

The player had repeatedly expressed his desire to stay at Marseille in recent weeks.

But his latest clue – a pair of custom Nikes branded WS2 – suggests he will return to north London to wear the number two.

After an awards ceremony in Paris, he said: “It’s an honour, a source of pride. I dedicate this trophy to my teammates, my club and the fans.

“Did I play my last game against Marseille? I do not know.

“The future will show us. The most important thing is to confirm this good season by qualifying for the Champions League. After that we will see.”
