Corrie’s Sally Dynevor Reveals She Was Talking About On Set

Dancing on Ice’s Sally Dynevor tried her hand at two other Corrie roles before she became her iconic character.

The actress known to the British public as Sally Metcalfe is very popular on ITV soap, but it turns out she could play a very different role.

Sally previously auditioned twice for two different characters – the first being the daughter of milkman Harry Clayton and the second, the girlfriend of Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell).

However, she didn’t get the first two roles she was in – and the reason was something she couldn’t change.

While it’s not known why she was turned down to be the milkman’s eldest daughter, we do know she didn’t get the girlfriend role because she wasn’t classy enough.

Instead, she became Sally Metcalfe. In 1986, she made her debut when Kevin drove through a puddle and got her wet.

“From day one, we worked really well,” Sally said in 2012.

“And we had a lot of lovely shots with Jean Alexander, who plays Hilda Ogden. She was a great inspiration when I first started and Sally and Kevin moved in with her at number 13. We had a really good time.”

But this isn’t the first time the couple has crossed paths.

Michael made a pretty good impression when he and Sally first met – before they started working together on the set of Corrie.

“We worked together at Oldham Theater Workshop when I was 14 and a half years old and he was 13,” revealed Sally.

“He’s the cutest boy you’ll ever see. He’s small, but he has the longest and darkest eyelashes.

Kevin and Sally broke our hearts

“We played a ball game called Zigger Zagger and had a great time. I remember him saying, ‘Can I come with you to the after-game party?” And I said, ‘No, you can’t! You are 13 years old, I am 14 and a half years old. Impossible!’

“He’s too young for me”

Before coming to Corrie, she starred in The Metal Mickey Road Show and Juliet Bravo, in which she played a heroin addict.

And now she is one of 12 contestants of Dancing On Ice.

Sally admits she wants to show a different side of herself to her fans, rather than just what they see on the cobblestones while competing in the celebrity skating competition on ITV.

She said, “I really want people to get to know me because they’ve only known my character for so long. But then again, that’s putting myself out there, because I’ve never been real. doing this before.

“I’ve been hiding my character. So to come out after all these years, it’s been quite difficult. But I hope I’ll be fine and that it’ll work out and that I’ll really enjoy it. experience and then go back to being Sally Metcalfe in a few weeks.”

Sally credits her husband, Tim Dyenvor, and their children for giving her the courage to step out of her comfort zone.
