BBC Breakfast star Sally Nugent has revealed she was shocked when Wayne Rooney agreed to star in a new documentary about Rooney.

The 50-year-old TV presenter did her first TV interview 20 years ago.

At that time, she worked at BBC North West Tonight as a sports host and Wayne is only 16 years old.

He later confessed to her that he was ‘too young to do that’.

And now, Wayne – with his wife Coleen Rooney – discussed his career, the mistakes he’s made, and his problems on his Amazon documentary.

Speaking to the Mirror, Sally said: “I did his first TV interview exactly 20 years ago and he was 16.

“He had absolutely no depth at the time. And I think the movie [new Amazon documentary] Incredible. I can’t believe he agreed to do that because it has full access, right? “

She continued: “But he’s really, really honest and open and mature and obviously has given a lot of thought to the mistakes he’s made in his life and why they’ve happened. That’s really brave.”

“You’re not prepared,” Rooney explains in an interview with BBC Breakfast in the first day of this month.

His Amazon Prime Show Shelves His Otherworldly Possibilities, Flashpoints define his career in England and his roller coaster relationship with wife Coleen.

The film is directed by BAFTA Award winner Matt Smith, who has made a documentary about Rio Ferdinand and David Beckham, and produced by Lorton Entertainment.

Coleen even shared hers thoughts on Wayne’s infidelity and said she had learned to ‘live with’ what he did.

She said on camera that she and Wayne weren’t “lovey-dovey” after he sleeping with prostitutes Behind her back.

“We’re not the romantic type anyway and we like to laugh together and we work well together, and we’ve got four kids,” she explains.
