Sam Fender wins NME Awards after BRITs success – main winners list

Sam Fender won both Best Album by a UK Artist and Best World Album for his work on 17 Going Under at the NME Awards in London on Wednesday.

Sam Fender’s success continued after superstar Geordie hit two gongs at this year’s NME Awards.
The Hypersonic Missiles singer, 27, followed up on the success of the BRIT Awards by lifting the award at a ceremony at the O2 Academy in Brixton on Wednesday night.
The ceremony was chaired by Daisy May Cooper and Lady Lehurr and saw artists of various genres honored.
Sam performed the night alongside his current band members and was also awarded Best Album by British Artist and Best World Album for his work on 17 Going. Under.
Presenter Asim Chaudhry joined TikTok host Francis Bourgeois to present the UK award – and Sam later posted on his Instagram declaring his love for the social media star .

Accepting the award, Sam confessed, “We didn’t even know we had been nominated until two sentences ago,” Fender said as he accepted the honor.
He added: “There was a lot of Geordie passion in the house tonight. “Scream if you want to go faster!”
Jokingly, he then turned his attention to the winner of the night, Fontaines DC, and declared, “I’m going to meet up with a lot of you.”
