Sam Smith and Kim Petras score success with new collaboration

Sam Smith and Kim Petras have had a divine collaboration debut in the UK singles chart after securing the top spot with their new song Unholy.

Stormzy’s new song Mel Made Me Do It, with a running time of 7 minutes and 20 seconds, entered the singles chart at number 12, becoming the rapper’s 25th top 40 single and the first single. his first since partnering with rapper Dave in 2021.

Elsewhere in the album chart, 5 Seconds Of Summer narrowly clinched a third UK number one with 5SOS5.

The Australian band’s fifth studio album took the top spot with 78% of disc sales and was the UK’s most bought and downloaded record this week.

The group – made up of Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Ashton Irwin and Michael Clifford – hit number one with their 2015 album Sounds Good Feels Good and their 2020 release CALM.

Right behind in second place is hip-hop collective D-Block Europe in London with their second studio album Lap 5.

The record is the most streamed album this week, and only 1,300 chart units separate the top two groups.

Alternative rock band Sports Team took third place with their second studio album Gulp!, while Harry Styles’ third album topped the Harry’s House chart at number four.
