Samsung introduces two NEW foldable Galaxy devices that rival the iPhone

SAMSUNG reinforces its long-standing rivalry with Apple with a brand new set of super-tough foldable smartphones.

The South Korean tech giant has officially unveiled a Galaxy Z Fold 4 that opens up to a massive display the iPhone can only dream of.

Samsung has stuck to its guns with foldable devices after pioneering the idea in 2019, only to find screen flexing issues.

Today it seems a different story, with a super strong construction that appears to have been folded tested more than 200,000 times without issue.

The company has also unveiled a brand new Flip 4 that’s perfect for selfie lovers who don’t want to awkwardly hold their phone for a decent photo.

Aside from a better physical build, Samsung has also managed to reduce the bezels to offer an even wider display.

And the greater strength isn’t at the expense of carrying, as the weight is actually down compared to what it used to be.

Some of the more noticeable improvements to the device itself include a new taskbar at the bottom that lets you switch and launch apps instantly, which is more like a laptop.

It runs on Android 12L and allows you to open multiple apps at once and slide them over different parts of the screen.

Samsung has also packed more punch with its cameras, upgrading the three main lenses to an impressive 12, 50 and 10 megapixels respectively with 30x zoom.

The company says they’ve added something called Nightography, which makes images appear a lot clearer at night.

On the front, the selfie camera is invisibly hidden under the screen.

There’s also a stylus if you really want to get productive.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is available in three colors: Greygreen, Beige and Phantom Black.

And it starts at £1,649/$1,799.

If you love a bit of flip phone nostalgia, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is a more compact device.

And the retro feel doesn’t stop there, as you can film videos like you would with a camcorder by holding the phone slightly closed at the sides.

The cameras have also been improved, now with two 12-megapixel lenses.

The way the flip can sit upright also means you can snap the perfect selfie from different angles without holding the phone – eliminating those awkward shots for the person who would normally stretch their arm out to take that take picture.

Better still, the feature — known as FlexCam — is optimized for Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook so they properly adapt to the folded form factor.

Even when folded, the Flip 4 can be used to make calls and reply to texts, for example.

Super-fast charging is also now supported, which Samsung claims will allow users to charge up to 50 percent in around 30 minutes.

It comes in Bora Purple, Graphite, Pink Gold, and Blue colors.
