Saoirse Ronan will star in a highly-anticipated film as a recovering addict fresh out of rehab.
Irish actor has been cast in the film adaptation of ‘The Outrun’ – a bestselling memoir by Amy Liptrot.
The first look at the film shows a blue-haired Ronan looking austere as Rona, who returns to Scotland’s wild Orkney Islands after a decade away.
The Oscar-nominated star is deeply immersed in the role of a recovering addict, battling past memories as she returns home.
The publisher of Amy Liptrot’s memoir describes the book as a story of how her life was “shaped by the cycle of the seasons, birth and death on the farm, and disease her father’s psyche, just like part of her childhood. wild, carefree existence on Orkney. “
Directed by Nora Fingshedt, the film is considering a 2023 release date.
Saoirse topped a poll in June to most likely be ranked as one of the greatest actors of the future generation.
Buzzfeed named Ronan along with longtime collaborator Timothée Chalamet as capable icons.
The website says there’s no doubt the 28-year-old will win an Oscar one day after being nominated four times.
The Lovely Bones star has been nominated for Atonement, Brooklyn, Lady Bird and Little Women, though she has yet to win an Oscar.
She acted in two of those films, Lady Bird and Little Women, with Chalamet.
He came in second, ahead of Zendaya in third, Stranger Things star Sadie Sink in fourth and Florence Pugh in fifth. She also starred in Little Women alongside Ronan and Chalamet.
