Sarah Jessica Parker told Andy Cohen that she “couldn’t have been more angry” that Kim Cattrall’s cameo in season 2 of And Just Like That was leaked.
“It’s a huge shame because it would have been like fireworks in the middle,” Parker told Cohen during an episode of his Sirius XM show Radio Andy. “And also because we want to make sure the expectations are real. Parker told Howard Stern during his radio show that Cattrall’s cameo was a “cook kiss” and “happy”.
Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones on Sex and the City, said on the Today show that HBO’s CEO called her and asked her to come back. She said the cameo only took about four hours to film and it was a “wonderful afternoon.”
“I don’t think I’ll ever say goodbye to Samantha,” Cattrall said. “She has given me so much and I am so grateful to her.”
The cameo comes after Parker and Cattrall publicly fell out over Cattrall not appearing on Season 1 of And Just Like That, the spin-off of Sex and the City.
Parker said on a 2022 episode of The Hollywood Reporter’s “Awards Chatter” podcast that Cattrall was not asked to appear in Season 1 because “she made it clear that she didn’t want to pursue it and that it made sense for us.” no longer felt comfortable.” , and that’s why it didn’t occur to us.”
