Sarah Jones Promoted to General Manager at Warner Songkick

Sarah Jones has been promoted to General Manager of Warner Music Group-Concert discovery service has Songkick rights.


Based at Songkick’s London headquarters, Jones will report to Benjamin Blank, WMG’s President of Media Business.

Songkick to be acquired by Warner Music Group in 2017.

Jones will replace current Songkick CEO Bill Ashton, who is leaving the business at the end of March.

Ashton has been with WMG for over a decade, working in senior positions on WMX before joining Songkick.

Jones joined Songkick in 2018 as Chief Commercial Officer, before being promoted to Deputy Chief Commercial Officer in 2021.

Before joining Songkick, she worked at BBC for 14 years, where she led global partnerships across the video and podcast categories.

Simon McCabe, who joins Songkick in 2021, has also been promoted to VP, Technology, WMX Media, WMG’s next-generation services division, which connects artists with fans and promotes brands. .

His primary focus will be on continuing to build out Songkick’s core business and artist marketing toolkit.

Simon has 20 years of experience in startups and has worked in a variety of CTO roles.

Jones, meanwhile, will oversee the launch of Operation Songkick.

The company says the marketing service is a “first of its kind” and allows direct and fan-specific messaging.

It also allows tour marketers to have control over how to trigger marketing campaigns and promote tours directly to fans.
