John Travolta has announced that he is now licensed to fly a Boeing 737.
he Grease actor has been flying aircraft for more than 40 years and has owned at least seven aircraft, including a Boeing 707, a Bombardier Challenger 601, a Boeing 727 and three Gulfstream jets.
The 68-year-old shared the exciting news on his Instagram account with a beaming face in front of the plane, saying: “A very proud moment in my aviation history. To complement my 747 and 707 licenses, I’ve just received my 737 license and it’s been going really well, so I’ll just share my moment with you.”
He captioned the post, “A very proud moment for me. I just got my 737 license” and added an airplane emoji.
It comes after Travolta landed at Shannon Airport in January after flying his own private jet from Florida for a “business deal” in Ireland.
The New Jersey native captured video of his flight for his Instagram followers at the time and said: “I share my flight with you as I fly my Falcon 900 across the world on business.
“Our flight time tonight from Florida to Shannon is seven hours and four minutes, just so everyone knows.”
Just before crossing the Atlantic, he updated fans, saying: “We’re on our way to Shannon, Ireland and see you on the ground. It was a good flight.”

Upon landing, he feigned an Irish accent and said, ‘Well, I’ve arrived safely in Ireland. As the Irish say, ‘Life is what you make it’.
Travolta began taking flight lessons at the age of 15 and has been a licensed pilot since he was 22.
Since 2002 he has also been an ambassador for the Australian aircraft company Qantas.
