Saturday Night Keynote: Guest announcer RuPaul introduces the show

Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Knowledge viewers thought the show started off with a downright scene on Saturday night.

Cheeky Geordie duo Ant and Dec are back on our screens to watch the latest series of ITV only – complete with live studio audience – with a drag icon RuPaul helps them out.

When Ru Paul’s Drag Race host, 61, opened the show, viewers at home were convinced the star had sworn off her opening monologue.

“Pretty sure RuPaul just got sworn in first on UK TV lmao,” one viewer tweeted as the show aired on Saturday night.

“Did Ru Paul just open the show with a #SaturdayNightTakeaway oath,” another asked, with a third adding: “Did RuPaul drop the bomb live on ITV? #SaturdayNightTakeaway.”

But the guest announcer really kept his script clean – no swear words were uttered during the guest appearance on the ITV show.

As a fan already Twitter To share what they consider to be an incriminating clip, another viewer explained that people had just misheard the legendary drag artist.

“No. @RuPaul said funky funky no the F Bomb!”

Ru joined the cheeky Geordie duo on the ITV studio, as the show returned to a live audience for the first time in two years.

Live audiences were welcomed back with open arms, after the boys had to abandon the crowds last year to distance themselves from society. Coronavirus pandemic.

Hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly were amazed, as the crowd cheered for them as they sped down the stage.

As they cheered the return of their hosts and hit ITV show, Ant was quick to say he’s grateful to have real people back on set.






Saturday night show full of surprises and heartwarming moments

There hasn’t been a live audience for a full series since 2018, with ITV showing in 2019 and then having to drop viewers at the studio for the next two years due to social distancing.

Part of the 2020 series was with audiences, before the hosts had to host final episodes from their homes.

The first episode of the new 2022 series sees the usual antics from the much-loved actor duo.

Beyond the prank Jeremy Clarkson on their beloved Diddly Squat farm, the daring Geordie couple have also made a bride’s dream come true – surprising her with an air wedding at the end of the show.
