Schoolboy, 14, raped in public toilet yards on Bournemouth’s world famous pier

A 51-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape, Dorset Police said after an attack took place on the morning of May 7

A 14-year-old schoolboy was raped in a public toilet just yards from Bournemouth Pier.

A 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape after the attack, which took place at 8.30am on Saturday 7 May.

Dorset Police said they received reports of the attack later that day and have since increased their police presence at the pier.

A full investigation is underway and specially trained officers are assisting the boy and his family

Bournemouth CID Detective Chief Inspector Ross Graham said: “We are doing everything we can to support the victim in this case and his family will be kept fully informed.
