SCIENTISTS have found an uncanny similarity between Earth and another planet 322 light-years away – although we certainly can’t live on it.
Experts have found new details about WASP-189b, an alien planet that burns with temperatures so high that it can vaporize metals.
While they differ in climate, they appear to have some other things in common.
It turns out that the layers of the atmosphere are not so different.
As we all know, the Earth has many layers, with some layers like the ozone layer that protects us from the Sun.
According to a study in the journal Nature Astronomy, other planets may follow the same system, albeit with very different characteristics for each.
But beyond that, WASP-189b is wildly different from Earth.
It is home to a surface temperature of 3,200 degrees Celsius (5,792 degrees Fahrenheit), making it one of the most extreme planets ever.
And unlike our 365 days to orbit the Sun, there things move much faster, orbiting its star once every 2.7 days.
One side is always “day” and the other side is always “night”.
The planet is also very large, 1.6 times the size of Jupiter.
“Our results demonstrate that even the atmospheres of strongly irradiated gas giant planets have a complex three-dimensional structure,” said Jens Hoeijmakers, an astronomer from Lund University in Sweden. .
Scientists were also shocked to find traces of titanium oxide, which had never been clearly detected on another alien planet before.
This is a rare compound on Earth but on WASP-189b it could play an important role in the atmosphere.
In other news, Apple has revealed a bunch of New emojis for iPhone, which includes a pregnant man and two saucy icons.
Experts have warned that the future Space launches can be dangerous if “stupid” regimes like Russia don’t stop blowing up the sky creating debris.
And most popular phone since a millennium has been announced, with many people shocked to learn it’s not an iPhone.
