Scout Willis shared a sweet photo of himself and Bruce Willis after it was announced he was retiring from acting due to health reasons.

The news was shared earlier this week by his family, who say he has been diagnosed with aphasia, which can affect a person’s cognitive abilities.

That means the 67-year-old actor will be taking a step back from his career, although his acting legacy will live on through films like Die Hard, Pulp Fiction and The Sixth Sense.

There has been a flurry of support since the news broke on social media and his daughter Scout, 30, has opened up about the reaction she has received.

She opened up about the experience on Instagram last night, sharing a photo of herself and her dad sitting together – with them smiling at each other in the sweet snap.

Alongside the photo, she wrote a message to her “dad”, as well as to his supporters – with her gratitude for the way the situation was taken.

She wrote: “Yesterday was so surreal sharing something so personal. I didn’t know how it would be received. There is always an unknown when you so vulnerablely share it with the world.”

Scout – whose mother is Demi Moore, 59, – said it was a “humbling” experience realizing how much “love, energy and prayers” was being sent.

Addressing fans directly, she said: “I’m so grateful for your love. I’m so grateful to hear what my dad means to you. Thank you to everyone who has reached out.”
