“Screaming” couples are disrupting neighbors with rowdy sex sessions, new figures show

Councils reveal the extent of the problem with noisy lovers, with some installing recording equipment to assess the extent of the nuisance to neighbours

Cuddling couples enjoying boisterous bonking sessions drew at least 168 moans from neighbors last year.

According to The Sun, some authorities installed recording devices to assess the level of horniness.

Details revealed as part of a freedom of information request showed that a person at Warwick Council complained that their neighbors could be seen and heard making love in their kitchen with the window open and the lights on.

Another said her life was spoiled by the sounds of people having vigorous intercourse for more than two years.

In Wakefield, West Yorks, one person complained of “loud sex noises with the bedroom window open so the whole street can hear it”.

There was also a case where a headboard was repeatedly hit against a wall. Pendle Council in Lancashire had a complaint of “extremely loud moans, groans and screams”.

In Hull, neighbors reportedly proceeded to an outdoor inflatable hot tub, causing a complaint, while Sutton Council in south London contained one in four cases, in which a neighbor said: “The couple opened the windows wide.

“We are woken up in the middle of the night/early morning. Basically, they scream during sex.”

However, the number of cases is likely to be much higher as councils lump loud sexual shenanigans with other common noise complaints.
