Scrubs co-executive producer charged with 18 counts of sexual assault

The co-executive producer of popular US comedy series Scrubs has been charged with 18 counts of sexual assault.

According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney, ric Weinberg, 62, is said to have “relyed on his Hollywood credentials” to lure young women to photoshoots where he allegedly assaulted them.

The charges stem from alleged incidents involving five women at different times between 2014 and 2019.

He also faces one count each of violent assault, attempted sexual penetration using force, and wrongful imprisonment by force.

He has since been released from police custody after posting $5million (£4.4million) bail after his arrest in July.

He is expected to be charged on October 25 at the Foltz Criminal Justice Center in downtown Los Angeles.

According to the prosecutor, on two separate occasions in 2014, Weinberg approached two women in public places and told them he was a photographer.

In each case, he was in contact with the victims, who eventually came to his home, where he is accused of sexually assaulting them.
