Seabreeze Festival Swinging Pubs at The Gin Mill hits all the right notes

On Monday nights, the Gin Mill pub in Arklow hosts an evening of entertainment to remember.

His event, as part of the annual Seabreeze Festival Swinging Pubs competition, showcased loads of local talent who wowed the cramped house with a variety of repertoire.

The performance opened with a performance of ‘So strong’ by Labi Siffre by Alan O’Shea, followed by Liam Moore, Jack Keogh and David Keely, who wowed the audience with a memorable performance of ‘The Full. Monty’.

Other artists include Jasmine Kavanagh, who sang ‘Hope Devoted to You’, Linda Fortune, who reads a bedtime poem about Covid, and MC Roan Freehill with Spice Girls Anna New, Grace Furlong, Caitlin O Leary and Mia Cullen. Mary Doyle rocked the crowd, singing ‘Run’ by Snow Patrol, before Tony Burke ended the show with a vibrant performance of ‘Sweet Caroline’.

Gin Mill owner, Antoinette Hudson, was delighted with the turnout.

‘Everybody enjoyed themselves very much. It’s great for business and the community. After Covid, it was great to see the crowd get out and interact again. It’s a return to some sort of normalcy,’ she said.

The Swinging Pubs Finals will take place at 9:30 p.m. Thursday at The Bridge Hotel, Arklow.
