Séamus Power secures first-ever Masters spot as he advances to Round of 16 in WGC Dell Technologies Match Play

Séamus Power has qualified for his first-ever Masters after booking his spot in the round of 16 of the WGC Dell Technologies Match Play event in Austin, Texas.

The 35-year-old Waterford native lost 2&1 to Group 4 opponent Keith Mitchell of the USA but still made it through to the next round of the event, where he will meet Tyrrell Hatton tomorrow.

His delight at that performance is dwarfed by his delight at having his name confirmed at next month’s prestigious inaugural Major of 2022, the Masters at Augusta National on April 7-10.

His progress this weekend means he is placed within the top 50 in the world golf rankings, earning him his first trip to Augusta.
