THE occupants of a jet ski and boat that collided near Brighton Palace Pier knew each other, police have confirmed.
A woman was taken to hospital after the Coastguard, RNLI, police and ambulance attended the incident early in the afternoon.
A Coastguard helicopter was also circling along Brighton seafront and a rescuer dropped onto a winch to help the woman who was on the jet ski.
She was then taken to the marina by lifeboat and placed in an ambulance to be taken to the hospital.
Rescue workers carried the woman on a stretcher to the waiting ambulance.
A police spokesman said: “Just before 3.30pm a jet ski and a rigid inflatable boat are said to have collided near Brighton Palace Pier and the woman on the jet ski is said to have been injured.
“Emergency services were at the scene and the woman was taken to hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
“The occupants of both vehicles are believed to be known to each other and the collision is currently being treated as accidental.”
