Growth Kitchen, the food tech startup building smart satellite kitchen networks, has $3M in seed funding and Felix Chrobog, who was also GM for Deliveroo.
Also joining the panel were Jonathan Seaton, CEO of TwinklHive, and Robert Laurence, CEO of Resolution Property. Both Ronny Shibley and Jonathan Seaton were also appointed to the board.
This investment helps Growth Kitchen further crack the delivery kitchen model, where restaurants can scale like a SaaS company while remaining the exclusive owner of their business. Leveraging technology and data science, restaurant brands can grow from a few kitchens to hundreds of strategic, high-volume, sustainable locations across Europe.
“In a world where we take Ubers and watch Netflix, we’ve accepted cooking as the norm for too long. Building on the success of meal delivery apps, we’re introducing a sea change in how we eat. We turn high-volume restaurants into delivery powerhouses by making it very easy for them to scale through our satellite kitchen network. With technology and data at their fingertips, our restaurant partners will be fully delivery-optimized, offering their customers a consistent, affordable experience in a sustainable manner and in an environment where employees actually want to come to work,” he said Máté Kun, co-founder of Growth Kitchen, on the raise.
“We’re thrilled to have the support of food delivery pioneers like Ronny, creators of future-proof real estate like Robert, and the leaders revolutionizing the way we use technology like Jonathan. With this support we were able to build a team and establish ourselves as the preferred partner of the best delivery restaurants.”
Growth Kitchen has already partnered with some of London’s most visionary restaurant brands that understand delivery must be at the core of their strategy to be successful over the long term, including Tortilla, Tai Kitchen and The Athenian, across two centers supporting 20+ restaurants. The company is on track to open 40 new centers in the UK and key European markets within the next two years, making it the standard growth partner for high-volume restaurants across Europe.
Ronny Shibley, co-founder of Gorillas and investor in Growth Kitchen, said: “What Growth Kitchen brings to the table is the natural evolution of food. Where gorillas can deliver groceries to your door in 10 minutes, the logical next step would be to go to restaurant food. Within 5 minutes of visiting one of Growth Kitchen’s hubs, I knew I had finally found the team that had cracked the delivery kitchen model. They have the technology to find and operate strategic locations, a steady stream of drivers coming in and out, while attracting top food brands that don’t want to churn and continue to scale with them.”
