There are a total of five SEISS grants between May 2020 and September 2021.
Each grant has different eligibility criteria, available amounts, and application deadlines. They also cover different time periods during the pandemic.
The fifth and final one is worth up to £7,500 and is officially closed for claim in September 2021.
But if you have a good reason to miss the SEISS deadline, HMRC says you have the right to be contacted until today (February 28).
HMRC has confirmed to The Mirror that you can contact them about any of the previous five until 4pm today – not just the latest Thursday.
This means that if you can show you have a special reason to miss all five deadlines, the absolute maximum you can claim is £36,570.
The claim site where you previously applied for SEISS is now closed, so you will need to contact HMRC directly.
You can contact HMRC on 08000 241 222.
You will need to explain why you cannot claim, along with your National Insurance number and your Unique Taxpayer Reference.
HMRC could not share examples of exactly who might be eligible to still claim when asked by Mirror, but said this could include people who missed out due to HMRC errors or “exceptions”. other rules”.
A spokesman said claims made today will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Who is eligible for SEISS
Eligibility criteria are different for each of the five SEISS grants.
For the fifth and final allowance, you can claim 80% of three months’ average trading profits, capped at £7,500, if your turnover falls by 30% or more.
This is the amount equivalent to the fourth, third and first allowance.
For those who see their revenue drop below 30% , you can claim a stipend worth 30% of three months’ average trading profits, capped at £2,850.
The final funding covers the period from May 2021 to September 2021 but by design is still only valid for three months of trading profits.
Eligibility for the fifth SEISS is the same as for the fourth grant.
You must have:
File a tax return 2019/20
Traded in both tax years 2019/20 and 2020/21 – and continue to trade beyond this year
See your business profits hit by the coronavirus crisis – and there’s proof of it
Earn at least 50% of your total income from self-employment
Average recorded trading profit is £50,000 a year or less
A second SEISS grant worth 70% of average monthly trading profits, capped at £6,570.
