Sen. Lindsey Graham’s defense of Trump goes spectacularly wrong

During the airing of Jesse Watters’ Fox News show on Monday, Graham said Trump’s mounting legal troubles were “unfair”, claimed it was a weapon of the law, set “a bad precedent” and insisted the fate of the former President should be left to the electorate.
“The American people can decide whether they want to be president or not,” said Graham, who was a harsh critic of Trump before his 2016 election victory but has since become one of his staunchest allies. “That should be decided at the ballot box, and not a bunch of liberal jurisdictions trying to jail the man.”
Trump was later charged in Georgia for allegedly trying to pressure election officials to reverse the state’s 2020 election result.
Users of X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, said it was “sort of the point here” at the ballot box to decide Trump’s fate.
