Colbert asked Fetterman if he was embarrassed to see the people around the Capitol, about whom he had “created a devastating meme.”
“You all should know that America does not send its best and brightest to Washington, DC,” Fetterman responded.
“Sometimes you just can’t believe that these people make the decisions that determine the government here. It’s even scary,” he continued, noting that the federal government was on the verge of shutting down thanks to a handful of Republicans.
“There are some very less talented people there who are willing to shut down the government just to score points at Fox,” he added.
