Jill Halfpenny has admitted that she finds her friends “quite annoying” when they are with their children.

The 46-year-old actor – who began her career on Byker Grove – is a parent, sharing son Harvey with ex-husband Craig Conway, to whom she was married from 2007 to 2010.

However, the Serious Dance Game winner suggested that being a parent around your friends isn’t much fun, instead, she prefers seeing her friends without their kids.

She made the comment while promoting her new show, Holiday, which sees a group of friends go on vacation with their families – although Jill doesn’t care much.

Waterloo Rock Road has opened about her bookings to Daily mailshows that friends are not alike when they have to be parents at the same time.

She commented, “The problem is you’re not hanging out with your friends. You’re hanging out with your friends as a parent.”

Jill calls it a “completely different ball game,” and the former EastEnders actress added that she doesn’t “really like” her friends as a parent.

Discussing more about her feelings about this, she said: “I find them quite annoying. And I’m sure they find me annoying.”

Her comments come ahead of the premiere of the new series The Holiday, in which four families gather abroad, with a dark secret leading to a murder among the group.

Jill plays Kate on the show, who begins to suspect that her husband Sean – played by Killing Eve alum Owen McDonnell, 47 – is having an affair with one of her friends.

The horror series will air on Channel 5 for four consecutive nights, with the first episode set to air in the channel’s prime time slot later this evening.
