Serious’s Arlene Phillips Says Oti Mabuse Will Have ‘Her Career Choice’ After The Show

The star of the serious group Oti Mabuse has announced that she is leaving the show after seven years as a professional dancer.

Dame Arlene Phillips says Oti Mabuse has chosen her career path and now she has retired from being a serious professional.
Arlene said she might one day have her own perfume label, as her career takes off.
She added: “This is absolutely the right time for Oti to leave.
“She won’t just dance and do things because they’re there.
“She will choose the career she wants. Oti is now at the right time and in the right place.
“Her career is taking off and it should be. She’s amazing and she has an incredible personality.
“She was funny and worked, worked, worked. I say congratulations, Oti. The world is her shell now.

“Hard work is finally paying off. You have to spend years … you have to do the hard work to build. “
Oti, 31, announced last week that she would not be returning for the next series of Serious.
Among her next projects is the musical Cher, which she is working on with Arlene. It toured the UK in April.

Also a Dancing on Ice judge, last night Oti performed a piece from her I Am Here tour of the UK on the show.
DOI professional skaters performed a performance choreographed by Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean with her.
Arlene, 78, received her consent from Princess Anne last week.
She said: “It was wonderful. Queen did my OBE and CBE so I’m happy to see Princess Royal there. ”
