Serious’s Jowita Przystal tells Hamza Yassin: Blackpool is a ‘special’ place

Jowita Przystal told her dance partner Hamza Yassin that Blackpool was a “special and overwhelming” place to dance when the couple hit the seaside town on Saturday.

His Strict Come Dancing duo scored 38 points on last week’s show while dancing to Master KG’s Jerusalema remix featuring Burna Boy and Nomcebo Zikode.

It is dedicated to the 32-year-old wildlife cameraman and presenter of Yassin’s African and Sudanese heritage.

Speaking to PA news agency about going to the prestigious Tower Ballroom, Przystal said: “When we get there (Hamza), and you walk into the ballroom, you feel why it’s so special. .

“It was a completely different world (and) what it felt like to be dancing (being there).

“It’s just that you feel so special. And sometimes it’s a bit overwhelming. But yeah, I believe you (will) like it.”

Przystal will make her first dance appearance in Blackpool since entering the celebrity contest in 2021.

This is Serious’s first return to the seaside resort after a two-year absence due to the pandemic, with the remaining eight couples hoping to impress the judges.

“(At Blackpool) we also have more dancers who will do a similar dance to us,” Yassin said.

“So I think it’s more than that, showcasing the place we’re at, that would be great.”

Yassin added his biggest consolation to deal with his stress on Seriously Is Przystal.

He said, “(Jowita) knows my strengths and weaknesses and it was great to be able to share the journey with her.

“So if I was having a hard time in a particular aspect (I could) focus more on that aspect, the training and she would say ‘you’ll be fine with this, don’t worry about that’…

“The public is very, very supportive, which is great.

“(It’s) like… in rugby, playing a home game and hearing the home crowd cheer on you. That’s what it feels like. “

Sunday night’s results saw former England footballer Tony Adams, 56, become the seventh celebrity to leave the show after being forced to withdraw through injury.

The remaining eight couples will hit the dance floor at Blackpool Tower on Saturday 19 November at 7:45pm, with the results shown on Sunday 20th November at 7:20pm on BBC One. Serious’s Jowita Przystal tells Hamza Yassin: Blackpool is a ‘special’ place
