Severe delays on the A259 at Peacehaven due to road works

There are six kilometers of queues on the A259 due to road works.

Road works and temporary traffic lights caused significant traffic delays near Chene Road between Peacehaven and Newhaven.

The queues are approximately four miles long through Newhaven to Beacon Road in Seaford on the west side.

It takes about an hour to get through westbound.

Eastbound queues return to Sutton Avenue in Peacehaven.

It takes you about 30 minutes to get through.

There is also traffic on the C7 from Piddinghoe due to roadworks.

A motorist said it was moving slowly but stopped when it reached the east side of Peacehaven.

Another person said the work gave many people a “miserable evening.”
