Gillespie, 59 – who recently published her autobiography, Tenement Kid – was one of the popular artists chosen to play at Shane’s featured in its 60th anniversary, along with Bono and Johnny Depp.

MacGowan, 64, gave fans an update this week as he posed next to his own copy of the book and delivered a note to his fellow rocker.

Shane tweeted a photo and wrote: “Bobby Gillespie, I love you, Shane.”

After battling a series of painful injuries in recent years, the Rainy Night in Soho singer looked healed as he beamed for the camera.

Late last month, he made his first public appearance since breaking his knee in a horrific fall in 2020, when his wife Victoria Mary Clarke joked about his recent hospital trips.

She explained: “Shane is out of the house for the first time since the last time he broke his knee and this time it’s not an ambulance ride!!”

The former writer gave the Irish Sun an update on Shane’s condition, telling us last year: “The cast is out and he had his first physical a few days ago. .

“And obviously it hurts because the leg has not been moved for a long time, since Christmas basically the leg has not been able to move, so it hurts.

“But he has a good physique. Finbar Furey, his son Finn is a physicist. He is giving him some exercises to get his legs moving.

“Hopefully when the course is over, we’ll put him in the gym!”

Shane recently published her first art book, The Eternal Buzz And The Crock Of Gold, will hit shelves in April.

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, he told how he’s always been a fan of painting, explaining how he’s been doing it since he was a kid.

He revealed, “I’ve always been passionate about drawing and painting, and I’ve done all sorts of things, hurdles, IRA men, teenage girls hanging around in cafes, you say.

“When I was about 11 or 12 years old, I focused on studying art history and looking at old paintings and modern paintings. … I did the album cover for the Pope’s album Crock of Gold, and I designed the cover for Pogues’ first album, Red Roses for Me.

“And I more or less designed the second album, If I Should Fall From Grace With God.

“As for my texture, I like pastels, but I don’t really think about it.

“I’ll draw or paint on anything, with anything.”
